U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers in America® have released the 2010 Best Law Firms rankings, marking the first publication of this annual analysis. The rankings, including 30,322 rankings of 8,782 law firms in 81 practice areas, are posted online at www.usnews.com/bestlawfirms.  The researchers' goal for 2010 Best Law Firms rankings was to provide a comprehensive view of the U.S. legal profession that is unprecedented both in the range of firms represented and in the range of qualitative and quantitative data used to develop the rankings.  

Achieving a high ranking is a special distinction that signals a unique combination of excellence and breadth of expertise.  Researchers in this U.S. News/Best Lawyers ‘Best Law Firms' rankings placed MehaffyWeber in the Metropolitan, Tier 1 category for General Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation-Defendants.

Major law firm clients and leading lawyers were asked to rate the law firms they consider best in their practice area.  Reputational input was received from 9,514 clients -- including every Fortune 100 company and 587 of the Fortune 1000 companies. These responses provided more than 194,000 firm practice area evaluations, while some 6,200 clients provided researchers more than 11,000 comments about law firm practice areas and individual lawyers. Also, about 9,000 lawyers completed nearly 595,000 practice area evaluations.
